What is a Life Audit?

A life audit is an in depth look at, well, your life. When you do an audit take into consideration all aspects of your life: Social, Recreational, Mental Health, Spirituality, Physical Health, Your Environment, Career, and Financial Health. It is much easier to make goals when you start by looking at where you are currently. Remember though, it is not about judging yourself but rather gaining clarity so you can make better decisions.

Why do a Life Audit?

Like I said, a life audit is the starting point to creating goals to help you get the kind of life you dream of living. If you are feeling unsatisfied in your career or perhaps struggling in your relationships or just feeling lost, a life audit can help. It’s a jumping off point for making big (and small) changes in your life.

Where to Begin?

I have created this 5 part blog series to take you through the process of doing a life audit step by step. So, pour yourself some tea and grab your journal and get settled for some self reflection and goal setting.

Step One: Your Current Situation

Begin your life audit by rating all aspects of your current life: Social, Recreational, Mental Health, Spirituality, Physical Health, Your Environment, Career, and Financial Health. Rate each category from 1 to 10 with one being least satisfied with you current situation and ten being the most satisfied.

A wheel of life graphic can help with this. Download a free printable at the end of this post.

To help you figure out exactly how satisfied you are here are some questions that might help:
